Calm & Contrast – A Warm Contemporary Bathroom Retreat

Client & Brief

Our client wanted a bathroom that felt like a spa at home, a retreat from daily life, where natural tones and modern design could create a sense of calm. Their vision was for a space that blended warmth, luxury, and minimalism, with a strong connection to natural textures. They requested a freestanding bath, spacious walk-in shower, and functional storage that did not compromise the design’s elegance.

Project Scope & Key Challenges

This project required a balance between openness and intimacy. The room had a long, narrow footprint that could easily feel tunnel-like, so we had to carefully plan the layout, lighting, and finishes to enhance depth and spaciousness. Another challenge was to integrate modern comforts: such as underfloor heating, sleek fittings, and ambient lighting, without losing the warm, natural feel of the space.

Colour Scheme, Style & Finishes

• Style: Modern luxury with spa-inspired minimalism.

• Colour Palette: Earthy tones of beige, warm wood, and rich brown stone accented by sleek black details.

• Flooring & Ceiling: Timber-effect flooring and ceiling cladding create continuity and warmth, cocooning the space in a natural feel.

• Walls: A mix of sand-toned tiles and textured stone finishes, adding depth and grounding the scheme.

• Fixtures & Fittings: A crisp white freestanding bathtub, wall-hung vanity, and frameless glass shower enclosure give a seamless, contemporary finish.

• Lighting: Layered lighting, including recessed ceiling spots and concealed LED strips, enhances ambience and highlights key features.

• Accents: Black vases, decorative branches, and lush greenery soften the geometry and bring biophilic calm.

Design Features
